With an influx of a number of new tanks in the guild, I thought I would just post the link to the fortifications thread in the warrior forums. It is a comprehensive guide for tanks.

Obviously being in the warrior forums this guide was originally written for warrior tanks, so a great deal of the information is geared towards them, but thats not to say it doesn't have anything for our Druid and Paladin counterparts.

out of some of his linked guides, one of the better ones is the empireguild guides:
http://evilempireguild.org/guides/

though I find that this site doesn't work in all versions of IE so you may not be able to browse it.

These guides give you tips on what gear might be best to get at any one time, or what to favour (AC, stamina, dodge, etc.) with arguments for and against the 2 umbrella schools of tanking. The mitigation vs avoidance schools. I find a happy mix in the middle will get you most places, but some fights really require more of one than the other, and vise versa.

If there is enough interest, I may put together some of what I believe the highlights are that effect all tanking classes.

Did you all forget about the warrior tanking guide I wrote myself for the tanks in the guild? Check it out. It's under Raid Information - Writeup for the Protection Warriors in the guild.

This was probably one of the best tanking guides I have seen...although it did give information on gear, it was fantastic spec wise and teaching what abilities to use and when to use them.

This is the stance dancing macro I use now for fear dancing.

/cast [stance:2]Berserker Stance;Defensive Stance
/stopcasting
/cast [stance:3]Berserker Rage

You have to hit it up to 3 times depending on what stance you're in to start due to macro limitations of using one GCD at a time.

Switches you to Berserker stance if you're in defensive stance.
Uses berserker rage if you're in berserker stance and its available.
Switches you to Defensive stance otherwise.
